Okay, so this is the meat of the site. Here are the analyses that I've done so far.

You can either click on the titles below or click on the pages above:

  1. The Battle for Britain ... and America (or "How to have a hit")
  2. Blue Blue Electric Blue (or "How low is Low?")
  3. Win (or "What every fan wants")
  4. The new Hunky Dory (or "When is Bowie going to return to songwriting?"
  5. The Rise and Fall of Causal Reasoning and Negative Emotion (or "How healthy is a Bowie album?")
  6. The Best of Bowie (or "What floats Sailor's boat?")
  7. Sex and the Church (or "How do love and religion mix?")
  8. God Knows I'm Feeling Good (or "What is Bowie doing with his long songs?")

And here are some of the analyses I'm doing at the moment. If you join the mailing list I'll keep you posted when they're ready.

  • Time may change me: How Bowie's psychological themes have changed over the decades
  • Nite Flights and Pin Ups: What Bowie gets from covers that he doesn't get from his own stuff
  • Sex and the Church: What's Bowie's take on this uneasy relationship?
  • The Berlin Triptych: How these albums are the same and how they are different

There are others I've thought of but not listed because I don't know if they'll lead to anything. But if you have any thoughts for others let me know.
